F. Griffin, 85, of Dayton, died Thursday, October 21, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 24, 2010, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with burial following at Pin Oak Cemetery in Cleveland. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. C. F. was born February 25, 1925 in Cleveland, to parents; Rufus B. and Bertha Legal Griffin, and has resided in the Dayton area for most of his life. He was a graduate of Cleveland High School class of 1943, veteran of the US Navy, a retired chemical engineer from Petrolite Chemicals, member of the Kenefick Southern Baptist Church, and owner/operator of the Kenefick car wash. He also enjoyed building and collecting violins and bee keeping. Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Leveata Enloe Griffin of Dayton, sons: Michael B. Griffin of Dayton and Pat Griffin and wife Tammi of League City, sister: Helen Stockton and husband John of Cleveland, grandchildren: Philip, Shane, Alan, and Amy Griffin, Cari Gibson, and Alaina Yawn, great-grandchildren: Brantley, Aspen, Jayme, Cyrus, Corvin, and Kylee, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
